Dining Out

Photo: My Milton in reflection. (Actually, if I remember correctly he was up on the porch railing looking down on a very excited Hound and bracing himself for some Hound Dawg affection.)

Often, I eat my lunch at the picnic tables in the library parking lot. Luckily, the library wireless reaches to the tables so I'm able to bring my laptop along. Sometimes I blog and many times, Fin and I have a little lunch time skype.

I'm constantly surprised by the number of people that come to the library parking lot to eat lunch. They sit in their cars under the trees at the end of the lot. They are parking lot regulars.

Currently, I'm very intrigued by one parking lot regular, the man that brings his cat to the library. He and the cat sit in the car together. The cat man reads and the cat wanders around the car.

Why? Why does he bring his cat to the library? They don't look homeless, but maybe they are. Maybe the man and cat live in the car, maybe the cat goes to work with him. Why, why, why? I just want to know why.

Do you think it would be inappropriate to go knock on the window and ask, "Why do you drive your cat to the library?"

  4. blondcat, I don't think I'll ask him, so I guess we'll never know.

Bobby, it must be nice to "bring" them to work with you.

  7. Intelliwench, have to admit, I had to look up the reference but I love the idea of the show. I'll have to look around and see if I can get a copy to watch.
