Perspective

Perhaps, I spend a bit too much time trying to see the world as children see.

This morning, while moving dinosaurs out of the reach of small hands in order to facilitate early literacy, I found myself thinking, "Oh I need to turn that dinosaur around so he isn't facing the wall.  The dinosaurs will want to see the children."

Hmmm... Personification???

Let's please refrain from arm-chair psychology.  I'm sure the dinosaurs were very appreciative.

  1. Don't worry....my early release from the funny farm was conditional on not doing any more arm-chair psychology. :)

  5. I think either works:

Anthropomorphism- Attribution of human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to inanimate objects, animals, or natural phenomena.

Personification- A figure of speech in which inanimate objects or abstractions are endowed with human qualities or are represented as possessing human form, as in Hunger sat shivering on the road or Flowers danced about the lawn.

Please play nicely.
